Portrait Session in Old Town Scottsdale | Jessica
This portrait session in Old Town Scottsdale with Jessica was a dream. She was visiting Arizona from Alaska and wanted some images to add to her model portfolio. She asked me about locations, and I immediately suggested Old Town Scottsdale because of the variety of areas we could work with so close together.
For the beginning of our session, we decided to start at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. It’s free on Thursdays! We began outside near the cacti and metal panes that wrap around the building outside of the entrance of the museum. The rainbow reflection of the glass coordinated beautifully with the floral dress she wore.
We headed on inside to shoot with some of the exhibits. “Mutual Reality: Art on the Edge of Technology” was the one I was the most eager to shoot with! As described by the museum,
“This exhibition presents the multiple ways in which we, as users, interact with an artwork and the response or output the artwork provides in return. These interactions are meant to get the viewer thinking not only about the traces we leave behind, but the effects we have on technology.”
It was a treat to have interactive art to shoot with! You can see those experimental photos near the bottom of this set.
